Well did you just recently purchase a raspberry pi well if you did don't panic if it doesn't turn on you most likely plugged in a different USB-C cable into the pi.
Well recently a problem with the raspberry pi's USB-C port was discovered where if you plugged in certain USB-C cables into the pi it wouldn't turn on.
Eben Upton the co-creator of the pi followed up with a report and said that some cables will not work because it doesn't receive enough power when used with e-marked USB-C cable. Upton says, "A smart charger with an e-marked cable will incorrectly identify the raspberry pi as an audio accessory, and refuse to provide power".
