Since the announcement of the galaxy s7 series Samsung has been calling their phones water-resistant which is true since the s7 received the IP68 rating which means you could submerge your phone up to 5 feet under water for up to 30 minutes, but Samsung has decided to take advantage of this an advertise their phones great to use in deeper places such as pools, the beach, surfing and more and while some of their ads mentioned a warning about the water-resistance a large amount of them didn't leading people to think they can use them under water at deeper than 5 feet which led to some phones getting damaged from the pressure of the water.
The ACCC does not approve of such advertisements and is now taking the company to court. The devices that the ACCC is taking the company to court over are: S10e, S10, S10 Plus, S9, S9 Plus, S8, S8 Plus, S7. S7 Edge, Note 9, Note 8, Note 7, A8, A7, A5.
